Dr. Sume Percival Chisha

Dr. Sume Percival Chisha is a distinguished obstetrician-gynaecologist with a diverse professional background encompassing extensive clinical expertise, research acumen, and leadership in healthcare. A Fellow of the College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of East Central and Southern Africa (ECSACOG) and the Zambia Association of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (ZAGO), Dr. Chisha brings a wealth of specialized knowledge to his role.

Dr. Chisha’s academic achievements include multiple advanced degrees: he holds Masters degrees in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Public Health, and HIV Management, along with a Bachelor's degree in Human Biology. He is also certified in Clinical HIV Management and holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Assisted Reproductive Therapy (Fertility Medicine).

With a career spanning both private and public sectors, Dr. Chisha has garnered extensive experience across Zambia, from rural clinics to tertiary institutions. He has served in various capacities, providing expert obstetrics and gynaecology care and surgical interventions. Proficient in a wide array of procedures including Caesarean Sections, Hysterectomies, Ectopic Pregnancies, Tubal Ligations, and more, Dr. Chisha is also skilled in basic laparoscopic and hysteroscopy surgery.

Dr. Chisha is a certified national trainer in Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care and HIV/AIDS management, contributing significantly to healthcare training and capacity building in Zambia. Currently serving as a resident Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Mary Begg Clinic in Ndola, Zambia, Dr. Chisha remains dedicated to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
